National Assembly: Deputy Adama Bictogo elected new president with 237 votes

The candidate of the Rassemblement des Houphouétistes pour la Démocratie et la Paix (RHDP) received 237 votes or 97.53% against 06 votes or 2.47% for his opponent Jean Michel Amankou. At this meeting, note that 246 deputies were present out of 252. The vote recorded 248 voters for 02 invalid and 03 blank ballots. 


He succeeds Amadou Soumahoro who died on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the age of 68 in Abidjan following a long illness and thus becomes the eleventh president of the Ivorian legislature. 


Note that this elective session was attended by 246 out of 252 deputies for a quorum of 127.
